“Deliberately shaking his camera as he shoots, Yoshinori captures the vivid silhouettes of trees, birds, leaves and insects amidst a dreamy pastel palette.“
Yoshinori Mizutani’s (b. 1987, Japan) practice heavily revolves around his immediate environment; looking at everyday scenes his tight compositions, vibrant tones and playful approach to light and dark results in re-imagining the banal into the remarkable. Currently based in the metropolis of Tokyo, much of Mizutani’s work has centred on this landscape where he created his perhaps most well known series, Tokyo Parrots. Most recently, Mizutani has focused on nature, creating abstract impressions of trees, birds, leaves and insects in a soft, pastel palette.
