Christophe Guye Galerie,
“It’s thanks to the internet that a shy person like me gained the courage to share intimate pictures, and find an audience interested in seeing those particular moments.“
Lina Scheynius (b. 1981, Sweden) explores and observes the world around her with an arresting honesty, capturing intimate scenes of her friends, her lovers and herself along the way. In 2008, Scheynius started uploading her personal images to her profile on Flickr, where she quickly acquired a large following. Over the past decade, Scheynius has self-published one book per year, with each comprising a selection of her poetic images of everyday life. After her first publication, the model turned photographer started experimenting with everything from her subject-choice to her editing process; placing archival photographs and newer images in dialogue with each other.
