“All of sudden a streetlight turns on. Wind blows. People pass by. You have to act fast, and the iPhone is perfect for that.“
Kai Oh’s (b.1992, South Korea) approach to image making is spontaneous and haphazard, chopping, reshaping and pairing combinations of images – often taken on her iPhone – into collage-like works. Born and raised in the city, her work attempts to give an impression of the weird and indescribable experience of city living by grouping incongruous shapes, textures and objects into a single frame. Kai now lives and works in Berlin.
