Vivid and saturated with colour, Tunge juxtaposes imagery in his photographs with the underlying theme of climate change.
Christian Tunge (b. 1989, Norway) inhabits many roles: photographer, exhibition maker, project coordinator at Melk Oslo, founder of the publishing platform Heavy Books. A devotee of artist books, he has produced six with his own work and edited many more. Symbolism is paramount to Tunge’s artistic endeavours, which use visual references to provoke thought on contemporary global politics; in his latest project ‘Too Familiar To Ignore, Too Different To Tolerate’ honey bees serve as a metonym for the environmental crisis. Tunge has a BFA in Photography from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
