Unseen is an international platform dedicated to innovative photographic practices. Focusing on new developments in contemporary art, Unseen provides a channel for up-and-coming talent to showcase their work, as well as presenting the latest work of established artists.
Unseen encompasses Unseen Amsterdam, an annual art fair and contemporary photography festival; Unseen Platform, an online resource for artists, professionals and enthusiasts; Unseen Foundation, an independent not-for-profit organisation committed to increasing the impact of artists on society; and Unseen Magazine, a bi-annual publication charting key developments in contemporary photography. Unseen is developed by an incredible team working together in the heart of Amsterdam.
Unseen Platform presents one carefully selected artistic project each week. Chosen by our own team of editors and curators, as well as other industry experts, these projects mirror the state of photography today.
Through a range of stories – from essays and interviews to in-depth reflections – we unravel the layers of each project, providing rich context via a combination of insights from the art world and perspectives from other fields. Opening a window into the heart of the creative process, we take a closer look at artists’ varied working methods, motivations and sources of inspiration.
Our mission is to explore the intersections between photography and other media; to support artists charting new territory in contemporary photography; and to showcase a range of thought-provoking responses to the burning social issues of our time.
We’re always looking for talented people to join our growing community. Whether you’re a writer, a gallerist or an artist, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org about future collaborations.
